Cuaca Buruk,Waspadai Banjir dan Tanah Longsor

Manado-Pemprov Sulut kembali mengingatkan agar seluruh warga Sulut mewaspadai cuaca ekstrim pada bulan Januari 2014 ini. Kendati belum dilaporkan adanya korban jiwa, namun cuaca ekstrim sepekan belakangan ini, cukup mengkuatirkan.

Karenanya, Golden Triangle, sebutan lain untuk Gubernur, Wakil Gubernur dan Sekdaprov Sulut, terus mengingatkan agar masyarakat mewaspadai ancaman bencana banjir dan tanah longsor. Menyusul, cuaca awal tahun 2014 ini, buruk dan tidak bersahabat.

“Bagi, masyarakat yang tinggal di sepanjang bantaran sungai agar mewaspadai ancaman banjir. Juga bagi masyarakat yang tinggal di perbukitan untuk selalu waspada terhadap ancaman tanah longsor,”ingat Sekdaprov Sulut Ir SR Mokodongan atas nama gubernur dan wakil gubernur, Minggu (12/01/2014) sore.

Selain itu, Mokodongan juga mengingatkan agar para nelayan, jangan dulu melaut jika cuaca tidak memungkinkan.”Bagi perusahaan pelayaran juga agar tidak memaksakan kapalnya melaut jika cuaca sangat tidak bersahabat,”imbaunya.

Diketahui, Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) dalam informasi yang dipublish melalui situsnya menyebutkan, prakiraan cuaca 12 – 13 Januari 2014 menyebutkan, sebagian Sulut mengalami curah hujan ringan dengan suhu udara dari 19 derajat Celcius hingga 98 derajat Celcius, pada kelembaban 60 sampai 98, dengan kecepatan angina 20 sampai 22 kilometer perjam.

Sebelumnya, BMKG mempublish peringatan cuaca ekstrim sejak tanggal 10 Januari 2014. Dimana adanya daerah tekanan rendah di laut Cina Selatan dan lat Arafuru serata pumpunan angina memanjang dari laut Jawa hingga Papua. Kelembaban udara cukup tinggi serta suhu muka laut di wilayah perairan Indonesia yang hangat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan awan hujan disebagian besar wilayah Indonesia.

Sementara, Cuaca dingin yang melanda Amerika Serikat membuat suhu di sejumlah wilayah turun drastis. Menurut badan cuaca Amerika Serikat, beberapa daerah, seperti Montana, North dan South Dakota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, dan Nebraska, mencapai titik terdinginnya, yakni minus 11-22 derajat Celsius. Bahkan, suhu di wilayah Minnesota mencapai minus 38 derajat Celsius. (Tim/sulutonline).
